WHAT’S HAPPENING IN WASAGA BEACH
March 4, 11, 18 – Guided Night Snowshoe Hikes Location: Scenic Caves Nature Adventure. Time: 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Strap on your snowshoes for a night-time hike, where stars and shadows create a dramatic setting for adventure. Professional staff members guide your group on a 1 ½ to 2 hour romp through an enchanting winter wonderland. Experience beautiful trails that wind through a mature forest of 100 foot tall trees, sparkling views of the countryside at the Suspension Bridge and breathtaking lookouts from the top of the Niagara Escarpment. No experience is required and the pace is moderate. Recommended for ages 8-10 and older. Night snowshoe hikes are scheduled for most Saturday nights and run weather-permitting. If there is no snow, guests will be advised to wear hiking boots instead. Cost: $40 with snowshoe rental; $30 without. Reservations are required: (705) 446-0256 ext. 223. March 12 – Around the Bay Wedding Show Location: Wasaga RecPlex, 1724 Mosley Street. Time: 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Admission: $5.00 If you are engaged, you don't want to miss this show. You will see, hear and taste all that Georgian Bay wedding professionals have to offer when planning your perfect wedding. Around the Bay Wedding Show aims to give brides and grooms the opportunity to meet with the finest wedding specialists in our very own backyard. Time: 2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Love Reading Magic Show at 2:30 pm, followed shortly after at 4:00 by Mad Science Lab where kids can watch cool experiments and do a few of their own. March 24 - Monthly Movie Night- The Gold Rush Location: Wasaga Beach Public Library: 120 Glenwood Drive, Wasaga Beach. Time: 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. If you haven't seen this movie yet, you absolutely need to! Written, produced, directed and starring Charlie Chaplin, this comedy is sure to bring smiles to all ages. This film has a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes as well as being one of the most important films in cinema history. The Gold Rush received Academy Award nominations for Best Music and Best Sound Recording upon its re-release in 1942. It is today one of Chaplin's most celebrated works, and he himself declared several times that it was the film for which he most wanted to be remembered. Run time: 95 minutes.
