John Armstrong

Royal LePage Trinity Realty ("RLP Trinity") became the entity we know today as recently as October 2011, with offices in Wasaga Beach, Collingwood, and Stayner, when it acquired Royal LePage In Touch Realty of Wasaga Beach, and affiliated itself with the Royal LePage franchise network. Prior to that, the Broker of Record and Owner, Dale Tkatch, had acquired Royal City Realty (1996), Coldwell Banker D.J. Campbell Real Estate (2001) with subsequent additions including E&B Chapman Real Estate (2010). All three offices are well located in busy commercial areas in their respective communities, and another important factor was that most of the existing Sales Representatives, and Brokers remained as we knew them for decades prior and only the brand and management changed - all for the better. We are all proud to be part of an independently owned and operated franchise of the well-known and respected Royal LePage Real Estate Services.

Clients, however, deal primarily with the Agents so some background on John as he is in the Wasaga Beach office! He has been involved in some form of real estate all his life since graduating from UofT in Civil Engineering, initially in land development in Ontario, Alberta, and Florida. He next started his own real estate consulting company which consulted to Trent University and the University of Guelph where he started and managed their real estate division for almost 20 years, then did likewise at University of Victoria in BC. He and his wife Brenda decided to return to Ontario in 2009 to be with family. John had started his Ontario real estate course when in BC with a view of tackling that aspect of the real estate "sales" market when returning to Ontario. He joined Century 21Millennium Inc. in Wasaga Beach in 2009, as his family had owned a cottage there for many years. His wife Brenda, who had been in real estate sales for most of her professional career, and a Broker who had owned her own brokerage for several years, joined him at Century 21 in 2012. Only just recently they both moved to RLP Trinity with their daughter Candy, who had just obtained her license.

Parkbridge Lifestyle Communities Inc. ("Parkbridge") is Canada's leading owner, operator and developer of residential land lease communities, recreational resorts and marinas.  Our overriding mandate is to make residential and recreational communities affordable, yet exceptional.

Established in 1998, Parkbridge's portfolio has grown significantly from two original properties with 650 sites.  In early 2013, the company surpassed the milestone of 100 properties with over 27,500 operational and potential expansion sites.  As a clear testament to the rising popularity of land lease for a growing number of people, our communities are found all across Canada.

Parkbridge's residential communities are comprehensive developments containing individual home sites that are leased to a resident through our innovative variation on the traditional land lease concept - The Live Smart Lease. Every resident owns the home on the leased site. We have both Family Lifestyle Communities and Retirement Lifestyle
Communities.  Our residents quickly discover they get a lot more when they don't have to buy their lot.  Residential dwellings include custom site-built homes, town homes, and factory-built manufactured and modular homes.

Our Cottage & RV Resorts are recreational getaways which include RV cottages and sites for travel trailers and family camping. Again, the key benefit is that customers never buy their lots.  They simply pay for their exclusive use of the land for short-term periods or full seasons. Parkbridge owns and operates the land, amenities and infrastructure while our customers own the dwellings. Our philosophy is to provide getaways they can't afford to miss - at prices they can actually afford!

Our Marinas are located in the most desirable boating region of Ontario, on Georgian Bay and the Trent-Severn waterway.  They are professionally managed, full-service operations that cater to a wide variety of vessel types.

One key to our success and popularity is that all our communities have a seasoned, professional management team overseeing their operations.  We remain partners with our residents and customers to ensure our high standards are maintained.  We're there day-to-day, year after year.

We believe we are the "bridge to smarter living" for a growing number of Canadians. For more information on our exceptional communities, please visit

Tanya Snell, Director of Community Relations

Stonebridge Town Centre and Stonebridge by the Bay are shaping up to be a community in the true sense of the word. This 95-acre site at Main Street South between River Road East and River Road West, is home to dozens of businesses: medical, professional, retail, casual dining and more, plus hundreds of residents. Many of the professionals at the Stonebridge Town Centre (www.stonebridgetowncentre.com) live in the Cape Cod-inspired homes of Stonebridge by the Bay www.mystonebridge.ca), which means customers become regulars and regulars become friends, as do the neighbours. Walking to work along the naturalized trails is one of many benefits of living in this live, work and play community. The Town Centre is also home to the Wasaga Beach Blues Festival (www.wasagabeachblues.com) as well as other special events the whole town enjoys.

Tanya Snell is the director of community relations for Stonebridge Town Centre and Stonebridge by the Bay, having joined the team earlier this year. She is also part of the team that runs the Wasaga Beach Blues Festival. Tanya, who launched the What's up Hut- along with her sister- in Wasaga Beach, has called the town home for 10 years. She owns the Outreach Marketing Group, and outreach is a large part of her work with Stonebridge; liaising not only with the merchants and the residents, but also with businesses and groups outside of Stonebridge to help build the community.

The Indigo Group - Rob & Ellen Riches

The Indigo Group is a training and development company that delivers custom training and transformational processes. The concept of a one-size fits all template is becoming obsolete, so we start with an informal or formal assessment and make recommendations based upon your requirement, aspirations and commitment. You, your experiences and growth requirements become the 'course material.'

The company is owned by Robert and Ellen Riches. Robert is a retired teacher and brings many years of experience of dealing with students at different levels from a wide variety of backgrounds, each requiring something different for enlightenment. Robert has developed an expertise in finding out just what that is, different as it is for each person, and brings those techniques into both personal and professional coaching.

Ellen has been delivering training courses for more than 25 years and brings a lively and friendly acceptance into the training room. She has designed a wide variety of courses, for a number of corporations, such as communication, negotiation, presentation, influencing, team building and conflict resolution. Each course is adjusted to meet both the needs of the delegates who attend and the stated training objectives.

A lot of training and development fails to accomplish objectives because it is decreed by management or triggered when something seriously goes 'wrong.' In either case it feels compulsory, and few people want training or development forced on them.
Many people ask what we can do for them: we will respond with 'what do you want to accomplish?'

  • If you don't know we have insightful assessments to assist you
  • If you are aware of many options we will help you find the best thing to do to advance all of them as you clarify your vision
  • If you aren't sure how to get from A to B we will help you remove the obstacles
  • If you have received a promotion or starting a new post we can help you develop your personal power as well as your professional expertise

In every case the path is unique to the individual and we will assist you to make your own progress uniquely yours. What is stopping you?

May

97-7 the Beach has begun its fifth year serving Southern Georgian Bay. From day one we have been the “go to” source for information on traffic and road problems. You’ll hear the most comprehensive water information including water temperature, wave height, wind speed and whether there’s a strong undertow. Mariane McLeod has brought hundreds of local people to the airwaves on Georgian Bay Today. We’ve sponsored and provided coverage of hundreds of events. Our cruiser has attended over 3-thousand venues bringing our communities together in crowd-building activities. We have partnered with the Wasaga Beach Chamber of Commerce in a “shop local” campaign and also with our hospital as part of Bayshore’s Healthy Tomorrows.

We want to be the chief cheer leader and premier source of information on recreational opportunities at the beach, on the water, on the trails and on the hills. We are going to tout and defend our clean air, pure water and unspoiled scenery. Our goal will always be to drive more people from Southern Georgian Bay and beyond onto the Beach, and into all the community celebrations around the Bay. All of us at 97-7 the Beach live, work and relax here...we all share the vision of bringing everybody in this region closer together which will only strengthen our many advantages. We have many ideas on how to cater to our visitors and to grow the local economy. Stay tuned!

Boston Pizza

August

Sandy with her husband Alex and Children Tino, Phil and Chris took a leap of faith a few years ago when they decided to change their lives and move to Wasaga Beach. Not just move here but to become an integral thread of the community.

Boston Pizza, Stonebridge Town Centre, opened in June 2008. It is a full service restaurant with a Lounge and two huge patios. Boston Pizza is Canada's Largest Casual Dinning Chain. It started out west and has been here for 45 years. Truly Canadian, and offering over 100 tantalizing menus items. They cater to families, seniors, and everyone in between. The menu offers gourmet Pizza of course, with regular, multi grain of thin crust dough, as well as gluten free. Award wining pasta dishes, regular or whole wheat, slow cooked ribs, steaks, sea food, salads, and now the Best Burger in Town. The kids menu pleases mom just as much as the kids. They cater to all allergies, and received the "Thumbs Up" award for accessibility for all handicaps. The sports Lounge offers 8 Large screens to catch all your favourite sports action, complimented with great appetizers, and home of the Coldest Beer in town. The huge patios offer out door dinning at its best. Open late 7 days a week. Take out and delivery available, free internet, and catering available.

Sandy and her Boston Pizza team are totally engaged in the community. Sandy is constantly opening her doors for a wide array of fundraising and charity events. Sandy and her family choose Wasaga Beach to be their new permanent home. It was the warmth, hospitality and charm our town offered them that made them choose Wasaga Beach. Sandy rolls up her sleeves and sets lofty goals, and claims that hard work and perseverance make her and her business the success it is.

Sandy and Alex wish to thank the community for all their support and patronage.

Thank you Chambers for the "Community involvement Award" in 2009, and for the "Business of the Year " nomination in 2010. Sandy and Alex promise to continue to support the community in future.
